As a senior consultant in the financial services industry, I have participated in the management of client engagements and in executive discussions regarding the general business objectives of the organization. These experiences have contributed greatly in determining my professional goals. My ultimate career objective is to obtain an executive consulting position that would initially focus on managing individual client relations with an eventual focus on directing overall market strategy.

Although I am currently working in my desired field, supplementing my professional experience with an MBA from Harvard would provide unparalleled training for the daily challenges I would encounter in this role.

Harvard's case method of instruction is analogous to many of the circumstances inherent in any consulting project. Often, the challenge of the consultant is to develop cogent solutions to complex issues in which information is limited and incomplete. Harvard's case studies focus directly on these scenarios and would serve to develop a refined expertise in methodologies required to efficiently and appropriately service consulting clients.

Further, Harvard's section based structure would serve to enhance my ability to interact and function within an environment of diverse influences and operational methods. The ability to efficiently integrate within unfamiliar corporate cultures is fundamental to the value a consultant brings to the client. Cultivating my ability within Harvard's challenging environment will greatly expand the breadth of client relationships I could manage.

Finally, Harvard's general management focus will provide the perfect forum to supplement quantitative coursework with strategic and managerial studies. This will provide practical preparation for evaluating critical factors necessary to advance an organization's position within a dynamic market.

These attributes, taken in conjunction with many other incomparable benefits, such as access to the Harvard networking community and the credential associated with a Harvard degree, would provide the perfect springboard to meet my professional goals.
