I am usually not in the practice of giving recommendations to students who have passed out over six years previously and attribute this policy to my commitment to rely on nothing but my personal evaluation.

However, when Ben Kudroak approached me for a letter of recommendation a whole eight years after he graduated, my thoughts were in two directions.

Firstly, that I recollected immediately the prowess, abilities and brilliant student career of the young man. He always ranked within the top 1% of his batch across all streams and won much recognition for his department through useful, practical research in the feild of energy management that he undertook in his spare time. I personally guided him in some of these projects and recollect that his work was always superlative in quality and execution. On completion of his course, he was flooded with as many as 14 high-end job offers. A record for a student at that time.

While I am sure his past employers have given you excellent recommendations, my knowledge of your program leads me to believe that his candidature will be par on par with your expectations. I have previously recommended two students to you and both were admitted and went on to be meritorious graduates.
